Keep track of your stuff
Photograph the item. Catalog it. Assign it to a storage location. Photograph the location too — so the list looks like the boat, not a spreadsheet from 2003.
Nested locations, all the way down
The system allows multiple levels of nesting. A ditty bag of spare shackles can live in a larger parts bin, in the lazarette, under the cockpit sole — and you can still find it when the next season starts.

Location photos matter. The storage location itself can be photographed and appears as the “face” of that place on the list — the locker door, the labeled bin, the bulkhead plaque. You recognize the stow the way you recognize a daymark.

WX Radar
Weather & NAV maps
One map. Two jobs. Storm motion when you need it — chart context when you need that instead.
Weather mode
NEXRAD radar is shown over the basemap and animates through about 30 minutes of history so you can see whether a cell is filling, fading, or sliding past your route.

USN mode
Tap USN to bring NOAA-oriented chart layers (depth, aids in U.S. waters) and freeze the radar animation. You keep a static radar underlay for reference — the chart picture stays steady.
- Default when you want NAV context
- Radar loop stops (by design)
- Not a substitute for the plotter

Default USN behavior: charts on, radar animation off. Switch back to Weather when you want the loop again. Your preferred map emphasis can live in Settings.
Marine Conditions — local current conditions
Marine Conditions is the named modal panel for a quick on-water snapshot without leaving the map.
Tap the waves control on the WX Radar toolbar to open it; tap waves again or the dimmed area to dismiss.
The same panel appears when you write a Captain’s Log entry.

- Nearest NOAA tide station, high/low tides, tide curve
- Short forecast brief
Resolved for your device GPS when available (coastal default when inland). Network required while the snapshot loads.
The range ring — 32 nautical miles
When the map centers on your default radar region (or My GPS) and draws the range ring around that origin, the primary ring is:
32 nautical miles
Roughly 37 statute miles — a practical “what’s around this bay or approach?” framing. You can still pinch to zoom; 32 NM is the default scope when the app centers or resets the map.
USN layers and free bathymetry supplement approved charts and your chartplotter. Not for primary navigation.
